So Much to Explore!

So much to do near Tenbury Wells, beautiful countryside, castles, market towns gardens and more.

The "Little Town in the Orchard"

That was Queen Victoria’s name for Tenbury Wells, one of her much loved places. It’s fair to say much has changed since those days, but for us arriving here in 2020, it feels an apt name still.  There are so many things to do near Tenbury Wells, we are working our way through the options.

Tenbury is our closest town,  just 2 miles away, and will provide essentials for your stay such as shopping, petrol, doctors, pharmacy etc. It also has some great independent shops and places to eat. Mr Thoms sells handmade chocolates, The Smiling Goat has the most amazing range of cheese, and there is a butcher and greengrocers too. There is a Co-op, Tesco and Spar for all those little essentials. If you are eating out, we love the Thai food at the Kingshead and Unwined Bar and Bistro for Tapas.

20 minutes drive will get you to the town of Ludlow. With it’s historic castle, market and great shops it is well worth a visit too. It’s a bustling busy place with some great shops and yet more fabulous foodie delights.

We are right on the board here between Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire, and as such there is no end of beautiful countryside to explore. You can start a walk right from the doorstep but if you want to venture further, the Shropshire Hills AONB and Malvern Hills offer great walking opportunities.

There are plenty of National Trust, English Heritage and private parks and gardens to explore too. We love Berrington Hall, Queenswood. Kyre Park and Stockton Bury Gardens, to name a few.

The Shropshire Hills Discovery Center, Wyre Forest and Herefod city Center are all 45 minutes or less drive away and West Midland Safari park is also less than 40 minutes away.

A man made waterscape, the collection of interconnecting lakes are beautiful year round. Access to the garden is by donation into the honesty box, and you can enjoy the bistro and antiques emporium onsite.

A little further away, this escarpment offers stunning views and a change to find fossils, we did!

This stunning castle is the centre stage of this market town with its grand houses, quirky streets and rich heritage.
