Terms & Conditions

By confirming your booking at The Commander’s Caravan you agree that you and any other guests within your party will abide by the terms and conditions set out below.

  • The Commander’s Caravan is situated on a small holding and located next to a working farm. As such there will be occasional noise from animals and machinery, over which we have no control. Please note at certain times of year hay making may take place which we have little control over the time off due to demands on contractors, this may lead to some noise and dust.
  • Please be aware that this is an off grid glamping experience. There is a solar system in the Commander’s caravan that runs the lighting, small fridge and 12v charging sockets (suitable for mobile phone car chargers) There is no mains electric in the Commander’s Caravan or in the shower room, and no Wi-Fi, although generally mobile reception is good. 
  • The Commander’s caravan is located in a field and is not accessible by car. Cars must be parked in the yard, however a wheelbarrow is provided to help carry your gear, but pack light, you only need food and clothes!
  • Please bring wellies, sensible shoes and wet weather gear! This isn’t really a condition, but just some practical advice, grass can be wet even on nice mornings!
  • Please note we do not accept bookings from persons under 18 years of age. The Commander’s Caravan is only suitable for adults only
  • Damage & Additional Cleaning– In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result. Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage in the Commander’s Caravan please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. Extra cleaning is charged if the Commander’s Caravan is left dirty and/ or untidy.  Additional cleaning is charged at £15 ph and any required replacements will be charged at cost, plus any associated labour.
  • The minimum booking is for two nights outside of school holidays and 3 nights during the school summer holidays.
  • To respect us and our neigbours we ask for no loud noise after 10.30 p.m.
  • We reserve the right to cancel your stay in extreme circumstances such as flooding, extreme winds, personal illness etc. Alternative dates will be offered or a refund on your payment.
  • Dogs are not permitted in the Commander’s Caravan.
  • Payment terms are 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the balance within 28 days of arrival. A confirmation will be sent after the deposit is received. Payments can be made by card. Please note if booking online or through a 3rd party, 100% payment is required at time of booking.
  • Deposit refunds will only be offered if your cancellation is made at least 28 days before your intended stay and a £25 administration fee will be charged.
  • Arrival is from 4 p.m. If you will be arriving after 8pm, please let us know. Check out is 11 a.m. on departure day.
  • Only wood is to be used in the Rayburn and the Hot Tub Heater. Please do not burn coal or charcoal.
  • Guest must ensure they use the Hot Tub responsibly. Please see the “Hot Tub Use & Instructions” Damage resulting from inappropriate use will result in a charge.

Covid 19 Additions

  1. In the event that a government legislated lockdown is in place at the time your booking is to go ahead we will arrange to transfer your booking to new dates or provide a refund for your booking if that is not possible. This applies only to National and Local lockdown procedures. If you are unable to travel due to self-isolating due to Covid 19 outside a lockdown situation you will still be liable for your booking charges unless we can re let your booking. Refunds will be less any commission paid to a 3rd party booking agent. 
  2. During the pandemic balance payments will only become due 14 days before arrival.
  3. If you develop symptoms of Covid 19 during your stay, you must travel home immediately and self-isolate there, following government guideline. In the event you do not leave and stay at the property during isolation you will be liable for the cost of all bookings needing to be cancelled to facilitate your stay.
  4. You must not travel to us if you are required to be in a self-isolation period.
  5. All guests staying onsite must follow government guidance in respect of social distancing, and take active responsibility to minimise the spread of disease. Any guest not adhering to guidance increases the risk of spread to ourselves and other guests and will be asked to leave.
  6. Guests must complete the “Information for Track and Trace” form either before or during their stay. We are required by law to keep this information and make it available for Track and Trace purposes for 21 days after your departure, after which it will be destroyed.
  7. We reserve the right to close some facilities in order to comply with Covid- 19 legislation
